Who We Are

Gordon Maclellan MB BS FRCS

A consultant Orthopedic Surgeon for the NHS from 1984 until 2010 when he continued in Private Practice.  One achievement during his medical career involved research into the mechanical factors causing Osteo Arthritis which led to the development of Visco Elastic shock absorbing footwear (such as Sorbothane and Viscolas), now used throughout the world of sports and athletics.  

Now enjoying his retirement which he shares with four Irish Wolfhounds, three Belgian Shepherds and a rescued Greyhound he has turned his attention to the diagnosing of hip problems in dogs.

Paul and Jean Lawless 

Breeders/Exhibitors of the Revloch Belgian Shepherds and Schipperkes in Ireland, they have bred many champions in Ireland, UK, Europe and further afield.  

Both International FCI Judges across numerous groups, Paul currently sits on the Irish Kennel Club Judges Committee and Health & Welfare Committee while Jean is a member of the Ard Comhairle of the Irish Kennel Club. 

Both are also involved in the organisation of Championship Shows

Robin Searle

Breeder/Exhibitor of the Surlson Great Danes. Well known and respected Judge of over 60 breeds across 4 Groups as well as Best in Show.

Chairman of numerous Breed Clubs including the Bull Dog Breed Council

Breeder of over 30 UK Champions and numerous European Champions.

Charles Foster BVMS MSc (Tropical Veterinary Medicine) MRCVS
Charlie graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1987 and has worked in various jobs including several years in Africa. He has been in practising in Cumbria for two decades and is the founder and principal clinician of Eden Veterinary Centre and Border Vets. He is very keen to support research into new techniques and offer the practice facilities to support PUPscan’s work.
Alex Haine BVM&S MRCVS
Alex graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2015 and has a keen interest in diagnosis, treatment and management of canine musculoskeletal conditions. He is interested in supporting PUPscan to evaluate the use of ultrasound in imaging the joints of puppies.


Luca Adinolfi  MVB

Luca qualified at the University of Veterinary Medicine “Federico II” in Naples-Italy in 2006.  He was always very interested in animal fertility and diagnostic imaging  and after graduation was involved as a volunteer researcher in the same University  for the Department of Zootechnical Science. Luca then decided to move to Ireland where he has been practising since. He ‘s very enthusiastic about the possibility of using ultrasound scan for early diagnosis of hip genetically transmitted disorders. Thanks to the management of the Newbridge Veterinary Clinic, where he is currently practising, he is happy to provide his knowledge and the facilities required to collect the data necessary for the evaluation of this study.

Chris Krzysztof
Krzysztof Wisniewski graduated in 2004 from University “Warmia and Mazury” in Poland. From the very beginning he was involved in small animal work. At first, he spent three years in modern, referral pet hospital in Poland, then he moved to Ireland where he worked for famous orthopaedic specialist William McCartney,  gained invaluable experience working sole charge in Newbridge Veterinary Clinic before opening his own veterinary clinic. Chris is a hard working and determined vet, keen to help and get the proper diagnosis for your pet.
